The Curragh is a wonderful place to run and perfect for long distance races. We started from the Curragh race course where the army were drafted in to managed baggage and transport it to the finish line in Kildare town. We started some distance past the grandstand and ran along the actual race track, past the grandstand, and\u00c2\u00a0across the horse bridge that connects the racecourse to the Curragh plains. We then ran along\u00c2\u00a0part of the\u00c2\u00a0original Gordon Bennett race track before heading deep into the Curragh. The route was predominantly rural and quite beautiful, and the weather was perfect. I finished in a decent 2:04:04, that&#8217;s a 9:28 minute mile pace or 6.34 MPH. Not a record breaker but very enjoyable and great to have such a wonderful race so close to home.
