This was the first Wicklow half marathon and was a little chaotic during registration but things settled down as we approached the official start time… only to return to chaos as the start time passed and there was no sign of any movement. The organisers eventually jumped onto a loud speaker where a little information went a long way.
We started a little late but it is Ireland and we’re used to that. The route was fantastic and the weather was sunny and warm. We ran within the town for a mile or so before heading out into the countryside for the majority of the run.
I didn’t run my fastest time (2:09:45) but I really enjoyed it and would definitely consider it again next year.
